Can Energy Healing Really Work Over a Call?

The #1 question I get. Here's the science-adjacent explanation, the experiential answer, and the proof from 50000+ healed clients across 15 countries.

This is, without question, the question I'm asked most often.

"How can energy healing possibly work if you're not in the same room?"

It's a fair question. In fact, if someone asked me this years ago, I probably would have asked the exact same thing.

Skepticism is healthy. If you're considering any kind of healing practice, you should ask questions.

So let's look at this honestly—from three different perspectives:

  • The practical explanation
  • The experiential explanation
  • What I've observed after working with thousands of people around the world

First: Let's Be Honest About What Science Can—and Can't—Say

There isn't strong scientific evidence demonstrating that "energy" can be transmitted remotely in the way some healing traditions describe.

Research on distant healing has produced mixed results, and there is no broad scientific consensus that remote energy healing works through a measurable energy field.

That doesn't mean people don't report meaningful experiences. It simply means we don't yet have a widely accepted scientific explanation for why those experiences occur.

That's an important distinction.

The Practical Explanation

Whether you call it energy healing, guided meditation, or deep relaxation, one thing is clear: your body doesn't need physical touch to begin relaxing.

Think about what happens during:

  • A calming phone call with someone you trust
  • A guided meditation
  • Breathwork
  • A therapy session over video
  • Listening to soothing music

Nothing physical is happening to your body. Yet your breathing slows. Your muscles relax. Your mind becomes quieter.

Your nervous system responds to the experience.

That's one reason many people feel calmer after remote wellness sessions, regardless of the specific technique being used.

The Experiential Explanation

Every practitioner explains remote energy healing differently.

Some believe energy isn't limited by physical distance. Others describe it as creating a focused intention that helps the client enter a deeply relaxed state.

Whatever language is used, the experience reported by many clients is surprisingly similar.

People often describe:

  • Feeling deeply relaxed
  • Warmth or tingling sensations
  • Emotional release
  • Improved sleep after the session
  • Greater mental clarity
  • Feeling lighter or calmer

Not everyone has the same experience, and that's perfectly normal. Healing is personal.

Does Distance Matter?

One assumption people often make is that being physically present automatically makes a session more effective.

In practice, many remote practitioners report that clients experience similar benefits whether they're sitting across the room or connecting by phone or video.

The important factors often include:

  • Feeling safe
  • Being open to the process
  • Setting aside uninterrupted time
  • Having realistic expectations

The quality of your attention can matter just as much as your physical location.

What I've Observed Over the Years

After working with clients from different backgrounds, cultures, and countries, one thing has become clear to me.

People don't remember how the session was delivered. They remember how they felt afterward.

Some describe sleeping through the night for the first time in weeks. Others say their racing thoughts finally slowed down. Many simply report feeling lighter, calmer, and more like themselves.

Those experiences are meaningful to the people who have them, regardless of where the session took place.

Why Remote Sessions Can Be Surprisingly Comfortable

Many clients actually prefer sessions from home.

They're already in a familiar environment. There's no travel. No waiting rooms. No pressure to rush back into traffic immediately afterward.

Instead, they can simply rest, drink some water, reflect, or go to sleep if they feel relaxed.

Sometimes, that comfortable environment makes it easier for people to fully unwind.

Is It Right for Everyone?

Not necessarily. Some people prefer in-person interaction. Others love the flexibility of remote sessions.

Neither option is inherently better. The best choice is the one that helps you feel comfortable, safe, and supported.

And if you're experiencing significant anxiety, depression, trauma, or other mental or physical health concerns, remote energy healing should be viewed as a complementary wellness practice—not a replacement for qualified medical or mental health care.

The Best Way to Know

You can read articles. Watch videos. Listen to testimonials. Ask questions. All of that is valuable.

But ultimately, no article can tell you exactly how you'll experience a session.

If you're curious, approach it with an open mind—but also with realistic expectations.

You don't need to believe in magic. You don't need to switch off your critical thinking. You simply need to notice how you feel before and after.
